ARTIST STATEMENT
I am Veronica, a creative director building immersive performance art spaces, investigating subconscious desire through curation and design. I focus on the design and visual identity of a space to communicate my cohesive narrative or vision to an audience. In these experiences, I often curate performers based on my direction of the show, each a piece or character to my overall narrative. My exhibitions are made through the careful selection of artists, as well as directing and listening to the creative input of a technical team.
I am mostly inspired by excessiveness; the concepts are too loud, too bright, too obscure, too revealing, to challenge the audience with something so “in your face”. I often ask myself, how can I push the space further? Celebrating collaboration, the teams are given ideas (colors, shapes, sounds, etc.) that fit the visual identity using clear communication and organization. I aim to leave my audience experiencing something new and a thrill from the exhibition.
